A new report from TechNavio predicts that the worldwide market for secure mobile printing solutions will grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) 32.5% over the five year period from 2014 to 2019. Increased implementation of the BYOD policy in offices is expected to propel the global mobile printing market during the forecast period.
The report released this week cites technology advances by key vendors like Apple, HP, and Canon, and includes details on prominent vendors like Breezy, Epson, Fuji Xerox and others.
TechNavio says that organizations benefit highly from the increased use of mobile devices because of the reduction in time used to execute the printing process from smart handheld devices. However, wireless printing could pose serious challenges for a company's data security. This is the reason that organizations are continuously developing more secure mobile printing solutions to support and manage these devices.
"Organizations are increasingly adopting IT management solutions and providing secured mobile printing solutions, which will boost market growth," says TechNavio Vice President Faisal Ghaus.
Prat Agarwal, director of business development at secure mobile printing leader Breezy, isn't surprised by the bullish market projections. "As larger volumes of enterprise data are stored and transmitted on mobile devices, privacy and security have become critical concerns," he says. "Solutions like Breezy that make secure mobile printing simple for employees and easy-to-manage, track, and monitor for IT, are necessities in today's workplace."
Another analyst report projecting the market for secure mobile printing solutions reached a similar conclusion on the size of the market, but says that it's the cost savings available through adding secure mobile printing to a comprehensive corporate printer fleet strategy that is helping to drive the market. The analysts at Transparency Market Research say that, "Mobile printing lets end-users print documents when they are in traditional network of away from it The mobile printing enables end-users to print from their devices to any mobile printing application enabled printer located in the office, public print location or at home. Furthermore, mobile printing reduces need for individual printers on every desk and thus helps in reducing overall cost of installing network points and fitting cables."
IDC research says that the adoption of mobile devices has transformed how and where business is conducted. "More than 37% of the total worldwide workforce is now mobile," IDC says. "All this mobility means that mobile workers will require access to the same resources available in the office. Business-critical content will continue to move to the cloud for secure access from anywhere and at any time. As a result, multifunction peripherals (MFPs) will need to evolve to offer a broad variety of cloud and mobile capabilities in order to adapt to this changing and evolving computing landscape.:
